At about 1.5 miles, you will see these large exotic plants next to the trail. These are Sisal plants. They were, originally, brought into the islands to be used in fiber production for rope products. At this point, they are growing wild in certain places on the island. This spot along the Munro Trail is one of the heaviest concentrations of the plant.
