Donner Summit Bridge

The Donner Summit Bridge was viewed as an engineering marvel when it was built in 1926 at a cost of $40,000. It takes it's name from the nearby pass used by the first covered wagon pioneers to cross the Sierra in the 1840's. It's been called, "one of the most photographed bridges in the U.S." I took a try at photographing it from a different angle... by climbing down the slop underneath it. I was then able to use the bridge to "frame" scenic Donner Lake below.
