The Hawaiian Owl (also known at the Pueo) is a beautiful and mysterious bird. The Pueo has long been held to be something very special in Hawaiian Culture. It was revered as a guardian spirit by the ancient Hawaiians. Even though it hunts by day, it can be incredibly difficult to photograph. With it's keen eyesight and intelligence, it is very wary and usually takes flight at the slightest disturbance in it's surroundings.
