This shot was taken in a remote area on the west side of the island of Lana'i, Hawaii. One of the rare times that a Hawaiian Owl (Pueo) has allowed me to walk (and crawl) reasonably close for a photograph. This owl was very aware of me as I kept trying to get just a little bit closer. I was trying to work my way through the thick brush while hand holding a Canon 500mm f/4 lens. This was about the last shot I was able to get before the owl decided to take off.
