Kahekili's Leap is a spectacular location. The tallest sea cliffs on Lana'i rise about 1600 vertical feet on this side of the island . The general area is known as Kaunolu. King Kamehameha I is believed to have had a residence at this site. Kahekili was a Maui chief who's legend grew for his daring feats of "lele kawa" or cliff jumping from this very spot.
